The field trip

This was the photo taken by me during our geography field trip. My great geography partner Jennifer was trying to "push "the stack. The erosional feature of a headland.

The formation of a stack need a long process. First is the formation of a cave formed by the forces of the sea, waves erode the rock face of a coast line, produce huge caverns. Then, already existing caves are continously eroded by coastal erosion and the water starts to widen the cave. Further erosion of the cave will result in a natural arch when the wave's erosional power cuts through the headland. Next, wave energy will continue to erode through the arch until the roof become too thin to support itself. Eventually it will collapse, leaving an isolated pillar, and this pillar is called a stack.

These kinds of geography features can attract tourism and on the other hand, develop local economy. People love to name these features with metaphor or simile. I wanna to name this rock as "lonely heart" because this rock is really lonely. Do u agree??
