My trip to ZhangJiajie

I have seen many caves in China but the most impressed cave in my mind is HuangLong Cave in ZhangJia jie.In English,HuangLong Cave can be translated to Yellow Dragon Cave.Through this name, we can imagine how spectacular this cave is.
HuangLong Cave is located in the east of Suoxiyu Valley. It is an underground magic palace. In the cave, the path is zigzag. Stone shoots, stone stalactites, stone curtains, stone pianos, and stone flowers can be founded there. Before, I didn't know the formation of these spectacular landscape.Last week in geography class,we learned about karst landscape and I knew how this cave was formed. As the surface waters diappear underground ,limestone is dissolved and carried along in solution. Dripping water from the cave ceilings falls to the floor of the cave and here some of the limestone is deposited to creat a growing mound of deposit. And this deposite is called a stalagmite. Some similar feature is formed on the roof of the cave at the point where the water drips. And these hanging deposits are called stalactites. In the cave ,we can see pillars and this is fromed when the stalagmites and stalactites join together.
With the decoration of neon lights, the cave looks more atractive. When I wandered around here, I felt lost. The only thingI wanted to say when I walked out of the cave was " Nature is such a great artist!"

NOT ABOUT GEOGRAPHY,JUST ENJOY IT!!

Recently,I love this song very much and began to like TVXQ. Let's enjoy this song!!

MengDong River

When you see this picture, does this remind you the cool time when you are drifting?? Yeah, drifting on a rapid river is really a marvelous experience. I can still remember the time I was drifting on the MengDong River.

Mengdonghe River is situated 80km southeast of Zhangjiajie city. Between a remote canyon limestone cliffs. It is a beautiful river that is ranked among the top ones in china.

Look at this picture,we,the young geographers can tell the river is at its youth stage. Because a river in youth stage can cut a deep V-shaped valley as the fast moving water transport materials downstream. MengDongRiver is also dominanted by erosion as the turbulent water allows for little deposition to occur. We can also see various sizes of boulders along the river bed.In addition, the waves on the river can be seen easily , which indicates that the velocity of water is very fast.

When we were drifting, along the two sides of the river, limestone caves were everywhere, river was all in curves, water was so clear~~

This picture drives me to recall the fascinated experience when I was drifting. If you want to drift,MengDong River is really a worth place for you to visit.

YaLu River

This week, we learn a lot about rivers. So,I will talk about a river which I familiar with and have a research for.
I have travelled to Dan Dong when I was about 12 years old. Dan Dong is located along side of the YaLu River and in the south part of LiaoNing Peninsula.Dan Don gis the biggest border city in China. It borders on An Shan in the west,Benxi in the north, and Jin Lin in the northeast.Dan Dong faces Democratic People's Republic Of Korea across YaLu River as well.
The Yalu is about 800 km long.It flows from the Changbai mountains southwestward to Korea Bay.The Yalu River is used for generating hydroelectric power and for navigation.

Every year when ice starts melting, there will be spring flood. It is cool and humid across the whole region. The river does not have much sand so the water is very clear. The Yalu River freezes in the winter and there are many beaches and rapid waters in the upper and middle reaches ,so transportation is not good. However, below the Shuifeng Reservoir, transportation is available and the largest port is Dandong City.
The Yalu River features beautiful scenery. I 'm interested in the view here as well as the history because my grandpa had join the war which is known as Korean War.

The beautuful scenery here.
